In the Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD) and an air cylinder. Worried about the cold? We've got you covered with thick 7mm wetsuits, hooded vests, boots and gloves to keep you comfortable during your course.

If you arrive 15 or more minutes late, you will need to reschedule (fees apply).

Dive shops for hundreds of miles bring their students to San Carlos beach for their scuba training, but Monterey Bay Scuba is already here! Monterey Bay Scuba is the only dive shop in California located right on the water. With other shops, you have to lug around sandy equipment in your car and travel between the shop and the dive location but not here! The beach you’ll be doing your ocean dives from is just a walk across the parking lot. Get geared up right here at the shop then walk right down to the water!
Once you’re certified, you’ll be invited into our exclusive Dive Club “Dive Tribe” and take full advantage of club discounts and monthly meet-ups featuring a presentation, night dive, BBQ, and unlimited boat drop-offs!
